Tenure track positions – WHOI
The Physical Oceanography Department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) invites candidates to apply to the open full-time tenure track position(s) on our scientific staff*. We seek to hire 1-2 scientists at the Assistant Scientist level, but exceptional candidates at more senior levels may be considered.
We seek applicants with expertise in the broad areas of physical oceanography and/or climate dynamics that would complement the existing strengths in the PO department and contribute to WHOI’s Vision 2030 (https://www.whoi.edu/who-we-are/about-us/vision-mission/vision-2030/). We seek innovative scientists working in any related topic area, including but not limited to: 1) coastal dynamics, 2) submesoscale processes and mixing, 3) climate variability, and 4) interdisciplinary research. Interdisciplinary interests include the interplay between ocean dynamics and biological or geochemical processes, or the interaction of the ocean with the atmosphere, the land, and the cryosphere. We invite scientists employing cutting-edge observational, modeling, theoretical, laboratory, and data-driven approaches.
*Tenure-track staff are positions equivalent to ladder-rank professorial posts and tenure-track group leader positions.
