Two postdoctoral positions are available, one at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the other at the University of California, Berkeley, to work on the NSF-funded project jointly supervised by Professors K Julien (Boulder) and E Knobloch (Berkeley).

The NSF funded project focuses on salt-finger convection and associated mixing in the oceans and is entitled “Collaborative Research: Explorations of Salt Finger Convection in the Extreme Oceanic Parameter Regime: An Asymptotic Modeling Approach’’

Experience in asymptotic analysis, and the theory and simulation of turbulent flows in three dimensions is desirable. A recent PhD in fluid dynamics, applied mathematics or a related area is required.

The Boulder position is available from 1 January 2021  (see https://colorado.avature.net/searchhub/JobDetail?jobId=27134);
