Postdoctoral Investigator, coastal ocean dynamics – Institute of Coastal Research
Within the Institute of Coastal Research, we are investigating the nearshore dynamics – in particular with respect to the interaction of waves, bathymetry and currents. For these investigations, the institute uses and develops a unique set of instruments operating on various platforms such as coastal and nearshore towers, boats, drones and moorings. With HZG’s in-house developed coherent marine radar system and several video-based systems we are able to investigate the dynamical processes in the nearshore regions. One of the goals is to better understand and monitor ocean waves, wave-induced nearshore currents during storms and associated coastline changes.
We invite applications for a postdoctoral investigator position (m/f/d) in the department of Radar Hydrography at the Institute of Coastal Research. The position is limited to three years. Commencement date: March 1st, 2021. The place of employment is Geesthacht.
