Post-doctoral Associate Position in Physical Oceanography (University of Miami, RSMAS)

The Department of Ocean Sciences at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science has an exciting opportunity for a full time Post-Doctoral Associate in Physical Oceanography.  We seek a postdoctoral associate to join our group to work on observations collected as part of the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Program (OSNAP; http://www.o-snap.org). 

The incumbent’s primary activities will involve:

  • analyzing of data from long term current meter moorings, hydrographic observations, and other ancillary data sets and models to investigate the mean state and variability of the upper and lower branches of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation in the subpolar North Atlantic
  • participating in research cruises and be involved in data collection activities related to the program
  • participating in scientific discussions among the OSNAP international team, present findings at scientific meetings, and publish results in scientific journals

A Ph.D. in physical oceanography or related field is required.
