MPOWIR Steering Committee – Call for Nominations

MPOWIR is seeking nominations for physical oceanographers to serve on the Steering Committee that will provide advice for MPOWIR’s current programs and future growth.

The Steering Committee is composed of seven (7) members, each serving a 3-year term. All nominees should have a background in physical oceanography. MPOWIR seeks nominees at all career stages to ensure adequate representation in leadership.

Candidate material will be reviewed by the current MPOWIR Steering Committee. A final list of qualified candidates from which the Steering Committee will be selected will be made available for a vote from the larger MPOWIR community.

The Steering Committee will work closely with the current Principal Investigators, Sonya Legg and Colleen Mouw. The work of the Steering Committee will include: planning for ongoing activities such as Pattullo conferences, developing new activities, helping to secure funding for future MPOWIR activities.

Letters of nomination should clearly describe the candidate’s specific interest and qualifications to serve MPOWIR in this capacity. Nominations and supporting materials should be submitted via the link below, or emailed to Sarah Clem (sarah.clem@duke.edu) by May 1, 2016.
