The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) of the University of Miami invites applications for an Assistant Scientist position in Climate/Physical Oceanography. The incumbent will work with scientists in the Physical Oceanography Division of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and in direct collaboration with scientists at RSMAS.

The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Climate/Physical Oceanography or related field, at least one year of equivalent experience, and interest and working experience in analysis of observational data for ocean and climate variability studies. Highly desirable qualifications include knowledge of Unix and MATLAB Additional expected qualifications include a good record of scientific publications, and strong commitment to attracting external funding.
