Assistant Professor positions – UNCW

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is hiring faculty for multiple interdisciplinary clusters to strengthen its academic offerings and research mission in coastal and marine sciences. In support of this effort, we seek faculty in the area of Coastal and Ocean Observations and Modelling. The goal of these efforts is to bring together a core group of faculty who work across traditional curricular and research boundaries to strengthen UNCW’s established excellence in coastal and marine sciences. We invite applications from individuals in the fields of 1) coastal hazards, 2) ocean modelling, and 3) ocean observations. These three hires will join almost 70 current coastal and marine science affiliated faculty, in addition to four hires for two other clusters (biotechnology and coastal resource and energy systems) at UNCW.

Specifically, for the observation and modelling cluster, we seek a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences with expertise in coastal hazards. We seek a physical scientist with expertise in modelling, forecasting, and data visualization of hazards specific to low-relief coastal systems.
