This position is for a 9 month tenure-track assistant professor in the Marine Science department. Applicants with expertise in marine chemistry or physical oceanography are invited to apply. This position will be expected to teach introductory level marine science courses, upper division courses in marine/environmental chemistry or physical oceanography, and courses within the applicant’s area of expertise. The primary teaching responsibilities are within the undergraduate Marine Science program. The applicant is expected to develop a viable externally funded research program in their specialty actively involving undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in marine science or related field and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Coastal Carolina University is rapidly expanding and building upon a historic emphasis on the marine sciences. The University is located 10 miles from the Atlantic shoreline and within the lower coastal plain of northeastern South Carolina. The coastline in this region contains extensive areas of beach shoreline, landward marshes and wetland systems.
