Academic Year – Full-time – Tenure-track – Permanent
The University of Rhode Island anticipates a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2012, in coastal geology and the coastal response to climate change.

Review of resumes will begin 10/15/2011 and continue until the position is filled.

Basic Function:
The successful applicant is expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded, active research program, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in his/her specialization, to mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research, and to carry out service in the Department, College, University, and community. Close collaboration with colleagues at the University of Rhode Island – particularly those at the Graduate School of Oceanography – is anticipated.

Required Qualifications:
1) A Ph.D. or equivalent in Earth Sciences at time of appointment.
2) Demonstrated active research program in the physical coastal system and its response to climate.
