Brief Description: NOAA’s Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory is seeking its next Ocean Environment Research Division Director to lead scientists, staff and technicians conducting global research on understanding the marine environment. Research spans from ocean sound/acoustics, interactions between the solid earth and ocean, tsunami modeling, genetics and genomics, Arctic climate dynamics, to oceanographic research on climate impacts on fisheries in the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska and Arctic. PMEL’s Ocean Environment Research Division gathers and shares observational data, analyzes data to build understanding of atmospheric and oceanic processes, and creates predictive models of ecosystems, physical oceanography, and tsunami.
