The Society for Women in Marine Science is hosting their inaugural SWMS meeting Sept. 26, 2014, at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. This workshop will bring together distinguished female researchers to discuss issues, and share successes, of women in marine science.

Challenges and Solutions for Women in Marine Science

You are invited to a workshop on the topic of challenges and solutions for women in marine science at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. National medal of science winner and keynote speaker Penny Chisholm will discuss her experience on the Commission on Women Faculty at MIT. A panel of distinguished female researchers will facilitate a discussion of ways to succeed as a female scientist, and a social hour will allow for networking between graduate students, postdocs, and professors. The workshop will be held from 10:00 to 4:00 on September 26, 2014 and is free of charge, but spaces are limited and registration is required. Men and women alike are welcome. Spaces are limited so please register before Monday, September 21.
