Postdoctoral investigator – WHOI

Climate Modeling on the extratropical ocean-atmosphere interaction

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) invites applications for a postdoctoral investigator (for recent Ph.D. degree or nearly completed ) or a research associate (for more experience Ph.D. or Master’s degree with a several years of experience) to study large-scale extratropical ocean-atmosphere interaction with a team of scientists on various projects by Young-Oh Kwon (WHOI) and the collaborators in multiple institutions including the National Center for Atmospheric Research. The projects aim to investigate the role of ocean dynamics and ocean-to-atmosphere feedback in the large-scale extratropical atmospheric and ocean variability, using climate model experiments as well as statistical analyses of observational and reanalysis datasets. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing climate model simulations.

The position will be located at WHOI, while a remote work arrangement can be considered. The position is full-time, and eligible for benefits.

Initial consideration will be given to applications received before January 1, 2023, but the position will remain open until it is filled.
