Post-doctoral Position in Oceanography
College of the Environment, University of Washington
Research Associate (Search Number: NN10620)

A Post-doctoral research position in Oceanography is available in the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington. A multidisciplinary group of Oceanographers studying temperature, salinity, and oxygen measurements determined from in situ sensors on profiling floats and moorings are looking for a scientist to join our group. The goal is to use these measurements to determine net biological production in the upper-ocean using oxygen mass balance, and relate this flux to the ocean’s biological carbon pump. The job will involve data gathering, analysis, and interpretation. Ideal skills for the position involve, but are not limited to, instrument development, oceanographic data analysis, and modeling.

The position is a full time Research Associate (postdoctoral) with a duration of at least one year and possibly extending to two years. Candidates should have a PhD in oceanography or related fields. More information about the School of Oceanography can be found at http://ocean.washington.edu.

Applicants should submit a CV and a cover letter describing their interest in the position and list of three references with contact information. Please contact Steven Emerson (emerson@uw.edu) for more information and to submit application materials. Review of applications will begin on June 1, 2015 and continue until the position is filled.
