MPOWIR Virtual Conference honoring Amy Bower – Registration open

Registration for the 2024 Virtual Conference honoring Amy Bower is now open. The Conference will be held October 23-25, 2024. Sessions will be held between 12:00pm EDT-4:00pm EDT over the course of three days, with a combination of required and optional opportunities. 

Modeled after the Pattullo Conference, participants spend time with Senior Leaders developing skills and networks to advance their own career goals.  The format includes a mix of large and small group sessions covering topics such as: proactive mentoring, leadership, communication, negotiations, proposal writing and strategies for funding, career paths, and advice. 

The conference is open to women+ (women and underrepresented genders) early career scientists who self-identify as physical oceanographers. Early career scientists are defined as those in their final year of graduate school (within 1 year of completing the dissertation), in a postdoctoral position, or in a career-track position for no more than two years. Participation is open to applicants both within and outside the United States.
